More thoughts

It seems like I spend a lot of time thinking about the nature of our consciousness. Almost nothing is known about how our brains “produce” consciousness. Neuroscientists can take pictures of the brain, however they are unable to see the mind.

Confusion happens when we think of the mind as separate. Mind, body and soul, or spirit is the totality of the human being. So then why do we feel a separation? Let's look at the nature of our minds. On average, people have between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts per day and about 90% of them are the same thoughts they had the day before.

Most of the things we have come to believe happened before we were six years of age. Up until the age of five or six, our brains operate in a theta state. There are four states:

Beta: consciously alert ,with frequencies ranging from 13 to 60 cycles per second in the Hertz scale.

Alpha: when we are in a state of physical and mental relaxation, although aware of what is happening around us, its frequency are around 7 to 13 cycles per second.

Delta: when there is unconsciousness, deep sleep or catalepsy, emitting between 0.1 and 4 cycles per second.

Theta: Deeply Relaxed, day dreaming generally associated with right-brain thinking activity - deeper subconscious to super conscious , bursts of creative ideas - a key state for vivid imagery its frequency are around 4 to 7 cycles per second

So whatever we were exposed to from that young age happens in the theta state and most of it comes from other people as well as our environment.

The theta state is also the state we enter right before sleep - that in between time which can be very interesting for some. I myself have heard beautiful symphonies. I have felt a strong wind as if my hair was blowing all over my face and sometimes a omnipresence which I will write about at another time.

Theta is also the state we are in when meditating.

The subconscious is not the enemy here. It is not biased; think about it. It is recording information. When we learn something new, it is stored in the subconscious mind and becomes something we no longer think about like learning to walk. How many of us even remember how we did that? For most of us it is now something we do automatically every day without thought. Also it is a very complicated procedure. Walking is no easy feat by any standard. Have you ever watched a small child who is learning to walk. They will go through a phase of pulling themselves up on to their feet, stay as long as they can usually holding on to something, and then land on their butt only to pull themselves up again. This goes on for a while until they master the stand and strengthen their leg muscles. Then it's on to taking steps again, holding on to something, and then moving around while holding on. This process of falling down and getting back up continues until one day they take a few steps and any parent will know it's not to long after that you are running after them.

Looking a little closer at this, it would seem that the subconscious mind would account for a huge portion of the function of our bodies if not all of them. The subconscious is not good or bad. It's only doing its job behind the scene. When we learn something that takes focus, a lot of energy or is backed with strong emotions, the subconscious becomes activated. Wouldn't it be simply wonderful to be able to record over some of the stored behavior that is obviously sabotaging our good intentions?

What about the placebo effect?

You can take a sugar pill that you are told has wonderful healing attributes and presto! Your symptoms disappear. If you were raised believing that when you get sick, you go to the doctors, people will start to feel better on the way to the Doctor's office. The down side of the placebo would be nocebo where the research subject will display symptom's describe to them of said drug side effects (even when it is a sugar pill).

Clinical study reports on the FDA web site list results on tested drugs and the placebo effect with some very interesting information. I encourage you to read through some of the results.

Our minds belong to us and not our parents or friends or any other person or institute that has or had influence over us. We are the ones who need to expand our awareness and take control of our minds because nothing is ever really hidden from us.

The human body can live about 150 years so why isn't it? Cells regenerate - even brain cells which we thought couldn't . New path ways in our brains are happening right now. It has been shown that kids who are born into this tech world have different path ways in their brains than someone who never looked at a computer.

The power of our consciousness is pretty obvious - thoughts become reality.

I would like this to be a place where we can explore and grow

Change is an integral part of life, we can all sense that we have reach a pivotal point in our human story. How we proceed from here will literally determine our survival.

Divine feminine is the energy of our time combined with divine masculine two become one.
